Iron blue serving plate
Adele Stefanelli personally throws each single piece on the wheel which is fired a first time (“biscuit), then glazed and finally fired a second time in her gas kiln. She personally develops and mixes the glazes in her workshop, most of which are made with the ashes of her own fireplace and recall the Chinese celadons and iron blue of the Song dynasty.
Her stoneware and porcelain bowls and plates, teapots and vases are fired at high temperature, up to 1300°, in oxidizing and reducing atmosphere, following the ancient tradition and techniques of the Far East. The most beautiful glazes are obtained firing in reducing atmosphere, during which oxygen is which is quite a demanding and delicate procedure.
These products are handmade just for your order, so small differences like color alteration or crackles are part of the craftsmanship process.
Every piece is a limited edition as a guarantee of authenticity and uniqueness.
