Stufenschliff Pokal, with square stepped foot.
Design: Josef Hoffmann - 1910
Between 1910 and 1914 Josef Hoffmann designed a series of splendid goblets for
Lobmeyr. The precise cutting of the cuppa takes the craftsman to the edge of his
abilities – as well as the polishing, executed in three consecutive steps as to keep
the edges crisp. The goblet was first presented at the 1914 Werkbund exhibition in
Cologne; subsequently, it was sold at the stores of the Wiener Werkstätte.
With its tradition of almost 200 years of glassmaking, Lobmeyr offers crystal stemware, accessories and lighting of uncommon elegance and refinement. The Lobmeyr family claims six generations of Austrian glassmakers, renowned for crafting brilliant chandeliers and flawless drinking sets. Every detail, from innovative design to expert glassmaking to precision engraving, is addressed with uncompromising dedication and vast experience.
