Odissey Red Sculpture

The Odyssey series consists of five unique pieces named άνδρα (Andras, in Greek man). Each element is entirely produced in Italy, using 100% natural and sustainable photosensitive material extracted from corn starch. The works are accompanied by a Polycube, a sculptural element which, thanks to NFC technology, allows a smartphone to play the melody inspired by the work and composed specially by the artists. 

The project was born from the collaboration between DygoDesign and Polymia Experience.  Each work in the series is signed with a DygoDesign certificate of authenticity and with one of the five Greek letters that make up the word man. Each sculpture narrates the journey between design, art and sustainability. Their peculiarity is to involve the observer in a unique sensorial and emotional experience, activating sight, hearing and touch. 

The sculpture becomes a work of art through Action Painting by artist Federico Tassoni, who uses different tones of paint to indicate a distinct part of the emotional journey. The sculpture appears transparent and frosted during the day, while it shines with green light at night. 

The Made in Italy products made by DygoDesign are characterised by the "Fusion Deposition Modeling" process, an advanced three-dimensional printing system. The material used during the creation process is organic PLA, which is given a shape thanks to the malleability achieved at high temperatures (without toxic emissions). This is a zero-impact phase, starting with the raw material, which is obtained in an environmentally friendly and clean process, and ending with the finished product.
